CPU Black Friday 2026: what we opened on November 6
On November 6 we opened five Newegg pages sold and shipped by Newegg. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D was $624, under a $699 figure, and the page said Backordered. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D was $499. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D was $479. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D was $420, under a $449 figure. The Ryzen 5 9600X was still $219, under a $279 figure. Marketplace listings were lower. Those are not the price.
None of the five is a buy yet. The 9800X3D tracker still holds out for $429 or less. The 7800X3D tracker holds out for $349 or less. The 9600X buy is a Newegg price under $219. The 9950X3D drop is a backorder. Black Friday is November 27.

Newegg product pages, checked November 6, 2026. A price checker had the 9800X3D at $444 on Amazon on November 2. That is one site, and we did not open the Amazon product page. We did not open an Intel Core Ultra page.

Ryzen 7 9800X3D

Still the chip our tracker is waiting on. $479 at Newegg matches the launch price and is $50 above the $429 line. Buy at $429 or less. DDR5 is the expensive part of a new AM5 build this year, so compare a board-and-memory bundle with the chip bought alone.
Ryzen 7 9850X3D
Newegg $499- 8 cores

AMD’s page lists a January 29, 2026 launch. Same 8 cores and 96MB of L3 as the 9800X3D, with a higher boost clock. On November 6 it was $20 more at Newegg. The page also listed a limited MSI 240mm cooler offer. That cooler is a bonus, not a reason to skip the $429 target on the older chip.
Ryzen 7 7800X3D

The previous 8-core X3D chip, still on AM5. $420 is $29 under the $449 figure on the Newegg page, and $71 above the $349 line. A marketplace seller on the same page was $341.99. Buy the Newegg-sold listing, or skip it.
Ryzen 9 9950X3D

Newegg lists $624 under a $699 figure, and the page says Backordered. The spec table lists 170W. A second table on the same page lists 120W. For games alone, the 9800X3D at $479 is the chip to watch. See the 9950X3D tracker.
Ryzen 5 9600X

Newegg had it at $219, under a $279 figure. A marketplace seller was $172. That is not the price. Wait for under $219. See the 9600X tracker.
Before you buy a CPU on Black Friday
- Sold by the store. On Newegg, use the listing sold and shipped by Newegg. A lower marketplace price is a different seller.
- Memory. AM5 needs DDR5. A few dollars off the chip can be smaller than the bundle discount on the memory.
- The graphics card. At 1440p and 4K the card still does most of the work. See the GPU guide.
- Cooler. None of these chips includes one. A free cooler on the 9850X3D or 9950X3D page is a limited offer, so read the cart.

Should I buy the 9850X3D instead of the 9800X3D?
Not at the November 6 prices. Newegg had the 9850X3D at $499 and the 9800X3D at $479. The extra boost clock is $20. Our 9800X3D line is still $429.
Is $420 a good 7800X3D price?
It beats the $449 figure on the Newegg page. It does not beat $349, which is the line on the tracker. Newegg itself was $389 on November 2 and about $348 in mid-October, so $420 is a step back up.
What about Intel?
We did not open a Core Ultra product page on November 6, so this guide does not quote an Intel price.
