Insta360 Luna Ultra deal status right now
The Luna Ultra costs $769.99 for the Standard Bundle and $969.99 for the Creator Bundle, the same prices it launched at on June 10, 2026. We can’t find a US price cut on it since then. Amazon’s price was flat at $769.99 in a tracker’s checks from September 18 to October 17, which includes Amazon’s October Prime sale. We haven’t seen Insta360 announce a Black Friday sale yet.
Insta360’s US store sale started on November 13 last year and ran to December 7. It took about 15% off the X5, Ace Pro 2 and GO Ultra. If the Luna Ultra gets the same treatment, the Standard Bundle would land around $655 to $695. The catch is that it’s a new product, and a Korean coupon site reports that Insta360’s 2024 sale excluded new products. So a smaller cut, or accessories instead of a price drop, are both possible.
What counts as a good Luna Ultra price
- $659.99 or lessThe Standard Bundle at about 15% off, matching last year’s Insta360 sale on the X5 and GO Ultra. For the Creator Bundle, the same cut is about $829.99. Buy without hesitating.
- $699.99 or lessThe Standard Bundle at about 10% off. Fair, and a good deal on a camera that has never had a US discount.
- $769.99The launch price and the price today. Fine if you need it now, but there’s no sign it’s a holiday price.
The best value without a sale is Costco’s bundle: the Standard Bundle plus a Mic Air transmitter, a Black Mist Filter and a carry bag, all for $769.99 on Costco’s listing, with accessories Insta360 values at over $169. Costco’s site showed it as unavailable when we checked, but Insta360 says it’s sold in Costco stores across the US, so ask at your local store.

Standard or Creator bundle?
The Standard Bundle ($769.99) includes the camera, a protective cover, a wind guard, a 1/4-inch thread handle and a wrist strap. The Creator Bundle ($969.99) adds a battery handle, a Mic Pro transmitter, a wide-angle lens and a carry bag, for $200 more. Les Numériques recommended the Mic Pro and the battery handle: the Mic Pro records cleaner sound than the built-in microphones when it gets windy, and the handle extends a long day. Insta360 also sells several other bundles with a battery handle, filter or POV head tracker.
Who should buy the Luna Ultra
Good fit
- Solo vloggers and travelers who want smooth handheld video from a 1-inch sensor. Reviewers praised the stabilization.
- People who want to frame their own shots. The detachable screen works as a remote and has its own microphone.
- Low-light shooters. Notebookcheck and Les Numériques both found PureVideo mode better than they expected from this sensor size.
- Anyone who wants reach. The telephoto camera gives 3x optical and 6x lossless zoom.
- Buyers cross-shopping DJI. PCMag’s review is headlined “I Finally Found a Camera Better Than the DJI Osmo Pocket 3.”
Look elsewhere
- Fast autofocus on small subjects. Notebookcheck and Les Numériques found it good at wide angles but weak on small subjects and when zooming, and it was the main complaint in reviews.
- Long shoots without spare power. The detachable screen lasts roughly 35 to 55 minutes in reviews, and when its battery dies the whole camera stops recording.
- Rough conditions. Digital Camera World notes that pocket cameras aren’t especially rugged.
- Motion lapse. PCMag and Notebookcheck both note it’s missing, and the DJI Osmo Pocket line has it.
- Third-party wireless mics. Les Numériques couldn’t pair a third-party Bluetooth microphone. Only Insta360’s own transmitters worked.
Most reviews were written before the September firmware update. It fixed one complaint from the launch reviews, since portrait video is now 4K instead of 3K, and it raised zoom from 12x to 15x. Insta360’s update notes mention better autofocus only for the new Stage Mode at concerts, so we’d treat general autofocus as unchanged until reviewers retest it. The camera also gets warm in 8K, according to Notebookcheck.
Alternatives to compare
Insta360 Luna Pro
$170 less$599.99 for a single-lens version. It uses the same 1-inch 8K sensor as the Luna Ultra’s main camera, shoots the same 8K/30 and 4K/120, and is lighter at 215 g. You lose the telephoto camera and the 200MP panorama, and zoom is limited to 1-4x. If you rarely zoom, it’s the better value.
DJI Osmo Pocket 3
About half the priceB&H listed the camera at $439 and the Creator Combo at $549 on October 28. Digital Camera World found the camera-only price at $399 and a Creator Combo with a DJI Mic 2 at $499. That Mic bundle is not today’s $549 Creator Combo. It has a 1-inch sensor, 4K/120 and a single lens. See our Pocket 3 tracker.
DJI Osmo Pocket 4P
Not sold in the USDJI’s dual-lens rival costs $619 globally and shoots 4K/240, but DJI has not released it in the US because of the FCC’s Covered List. Third-party US listings have run from about $674 to $980, with no US warranty. Outside the US it’s the value pick. In the US, the Luna Ultra is the one you can buy with a warranty.
Where to buy the Luna Ultra
- Insta360 Store: sold at store.insta360.com (not an affiliate link). It has a 15-day return window, and a price protection policy: if Insta360 lowers a price for a limited-time sale such as Black Friday within 7 days of your purchase, you can ask for the difference within 14 days of the drop. Free gifts are excluded. If you buy before the sale, this is the safest place.
- Amazon: a tracker showed the Standard Bundle sold by Insta360 Direct at $769.99. Check the seller before you buy. Last year Insta360’s own Amazon storefront ran its Black Friday prices on several cameras.
- B&H: an authorized dealer that lists the Creator Bundle at $969.99. Online checkout closes for Shabbat from Friday evening to Saturday night, including Black Friday, so order before Friday evening.
- Adorama: also carries the Luna Ultra, so compare its bundles and any extras against the other stores.
- Costco: sells the exclusive bundle in stores, with a 90-day return policy. Its website showed the bundle as unavailable when we checked.
Insta360 also sells FlexiCare accident protection, in 1-year and 2-year plans. It may be worth considering for a camera reviewers call less than rugged.
Insta360 Luna Ultra Black Friday FAQ
Will the Insta360 Luna Ultra go on sale for Black Friday 2026?
Possibly, but we haven’t seen it. It has had no US price cut since launch, and Insta360 hasn’t announced its sale. Last year’s US store sale ran from November 13 to December 7 and took about 15% off the X5, Ace Pro 2 and GO Ultra, which were all released in 2025. A Korean coupon site reports that the 2024 sale excluded new products, so a smaller discount is possible.
When does Insta360’s Black Friday sale start?
Last year it started on November 13, two weeks before Black Friday, and the 2024 sale also started on November 13. We haven’t seen Insta360 announce dates for 2026, so expect mid-November.
What’s the difference between the Standard and Creator bundles?
The Creator Bundle costs $200 more and adds a battery handle, a Mic Pro transmitter, a wide-angle lens and a carry bag. The camera is the same.
Luna Ultra or Luna Pro?
The Luna Pro is $599.99 and has one lens. The Luna Ultra adds the telephoto camera, 3-12x zoom (15x after the firmware update) and the 200MP panorama mode. Pick the Ultra if you’ll use the zoom. The Luna Pro also records 4K vertical video, and since the September update the Luna Ultra does as well.
Can I buy the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P in the US?
Not from DJI. DJI hasn’t released the Pocket 4 or 4P in the US, and third-party sellers’ imports carry no US warranty. The older Pocket 3 is still sold in the US.
Is the Luna Ultra’s battery life really four hours?
Not in reviews. Notebookcheck got about 2.5 hours, Les Numériques 2.5 to a bit over 3 hours, and Digital Camera World nearer 2 hours, in mixed 4K and 8K shooting. The detachable screen’s battery lasts far less, so keep it attached on long shoots or buy the battery handle.
