Sony a7 V deal status right now
In mid-October 2026 the a7 V body sells for $2,898 at authorized US dealers such as B&H, which is effectively its $2,899 launch price. Sony has not run a US instant-savings promotion on the body since the camera went on sale in December 2025. The only US discounts so far have come as dealer bundles: in September 2026 B&H’s a7 V Basic Bundle was $2,924, about $207 less than buying the same items separately.
Two things make this Black Friday interesting. It is the a7 V’s first holiday season, and Sony has already cut its UK price by £400, to £2,399. There is no US equivalent yet, so watch for an official Sony instant rebate. When one lands, every authorized dealer gets it on the same day.

Firmware 2.0, released in May 2026, added 32-bit float and 96 kHz audio recording when the camera is paired with Sony’s XLR-A4 adapter.
Body only or the 28-70mm kit?
At launch prices the kit with the new FE 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS II costs $3,099, while the lens alone lists at $449. That puts the kit lens at $200 instead of $449, a $249 saving. If you don’t already own a standard zoom, the kit is the better buy. If you plan to pair the a7 V with a 24-70mm f/2.8 or a prime, buy the body and put the difference toward that lens.
Who should wait for a Black Friday a7 V deal
Good fit
- a7 III or a7 IV owners who want 30 fps bursts and pre-capture for action, wildlife or events.
- Hybrid shooters who want detailed oversampled 4K60 and pro audio options from firmware 2.0.
- Anyone already invested in E-mount lenses who wants one body that does stills and video well.
Look elsewhere
- You need internal raw video or open-gate recording. The Canon EOS R6 Mark III and Panasonic S1II offer both; the a7 V does not.
- You mostly shoot landscapes or studio work and never use high burst rates. A higher-resolution body may suit you better.
- Your budget tops out near $2,000. A discounted previous-generation body will serve you better than stretching.
